Hollywood-based Veteran Jayme Franco Wins Free A/C Unit From Air Pros USA for Veterans Day

Fort Lauderdale, FL (November 11, 2020) – Air Pros Residential and Commercial Air Conditioning Services (Air Pros USA) announced Jayme Franco, a veteran of the United States Navy, the winner of its “Veterans Day A/C Giveaway” contest. Today, Air Pros USA representatives surprised Jayme at his home in Hollywood to deliver the news.

“I am very pleased and excited to know that I won a brand-new A/C, thanks to the good people at Air Pros USA. Also, I am blessed to have great friends and family who voted for me, and would like to thank them all for looking out for me,” said Jayme Franco.

Jayme joined the United States Navy at age 17 and after engine man school he served two and a half years aboard the USS Rhodes, a small destroyer that patrolled the North Atlantic. Through hard work and dedication, Jayme rose in the ranks in just three years to become a 2nd Class Engineman. In 1960, he was transferred to a new ship and took it through the Panama Canal to San Diego.

Air Pros USA sponsored the contest to honor the men and women in our community who have served and sacrificed for our country by sharing their stories. Jayme was nominated by his friend and became a finalist in a public vote to win a new air conditioning unit. After three weeks of public voting, Jayme received the most votes and was declared a winner.

“Jayme’s air conditioning unit is eight years old and does not work properly, and he cannot afford to replace the unit,” said Elizabeth Rush, Jayme’s friend, in her nomination of Jayme for the contest.

“We are so honored to make life a little easier for a local military hero like Jayme by providing a brand-new air conditioning unit and installation this Veterans Day,” said Anthony Perera, founder of Air Pros USA. “We truly loved learning about our local veterans through this competition. This is just a small way for us to express our gratitude for their service to our country.”

After retirement, Jayme moved back to Florida and became a popular hairdresser in Fort Lauderdale, eventually owning 5 local salons. At age 80, Jayme remains involved the community and enjoys educating young people about the importance of health and nutrition and teaching them to grow microgreens.

The other finalist of the Veterans Day A/C Giveaway, Randall Box, will not walk away empty-handed. Air Pros USA will offer Randall a free A/C Tune-Up for one unit, free of charge, valued at $140. Randall served in the United States Navy for seven years as a Quartermaster 3rd Class.
