Flowers, Price & Eatmon Selected in XFL Draft

Three Bulls selected in opening rounds of XFL Draft; League opens play in February

TAMPA, FLA., OCT. 15,  2019 – USF saw three former Bulls selected on the first day of the XFL Draft on Tuesday . The draft , which is being conducted in five phases, including the drafting of skill players, offensive line, defensive front seven, defensive backfield and an open draft, continues on Wednesday. 

Former Bulls tight end Sean Price (2012-15) and quarterback Quinton Flowers (2014-17) were selected back-to-back in the fifth round of the skill players draft. Price was selected by the Dallas Renegades while Flowers was selected as a running back by the Tampa Bay Vipers and will return to the Bay area where he had tremendous success leading the Bulls to three bowl games, a pair of 10-win seasons and top 25 rankings.

Price set tight end receiving records at USF (since broken by Mitchell Wilcox) with 75 receptions for 897 yards. Flowers left USF with his name atop 42 records, including career marks for total offense (11,802), rushing yards (3,672), rushing touchdowns (41) and touchdowns responsible for (112).

Former Bulls tackle Quinterrius Eatmon (2011-14) was selected in the fifth round of the offensive line draft by the Seattle Dragons.

The eight XFL teams are filling their rosters with 71 players each as the league gears up to begin play in February. The XFL has teams in Dallas, Washington D.C., Houston, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Seattle and Tampa Bay.
