SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers announced today that they will host their annual Military Appreciation Night on Thursday, Jan. 27 when the Panthers host the Vegas Golden Knights at FLA Live Arena at 7 p.m. ET.
The Panthers will welcome more than 500 active and retired military veterans to the game through Vet Tix. Active and retired military personnel can sign up for Vet Tix at VetTix.org to receive complimentary Panthers tickets to future games.
Florida Panthers players will be wearing exclusive military jerseys during warm-ups. Select autographed, warm-up worn jerseys will be available at Inside the Boards for purchase. Pantherland and FLA Team Shop will also have various military Panthers merchandise including hats, shirts and more available for purchase.
The Panthers will honor 93-year-old WWII and Korean War veteran, Platoon Sergeant John Moran on Jan. 27 as part of the club’s ‘Heroes Among Us’ program which has honored over 350 military members to date. John served in the US Marine Corps for a total of five years. He was deployed to Iwo Jima during WWII and along at the Chosin Reservoir along the Chinese border during the Korean War. He is the recipient of the WWII Victory Medal and Korean Service Medal.
Prior to the game, fans can join the organization in writing letters to troops overseas at a table on the JetBlue Tarmac at FLA Live Arena.
Another way that Panthers fans can support and participate is with the Florida Panthers Foundation Baby Product Drive with UKG from 5 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Items collected from this drive will benefit 22 expectant military mothers and additional military families across South Florida through partnerships with Soldiers’ Angels and the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.
