Fighting Knights Select Angie Jabir as Deputy Athletics Director

BOCA RATON, Florida. – Lynn University Director of Athletics Devin Crosby today announced Angie Jabir as the new deputy athletics director and senior woman’s administrator.  Jabir brings nearly 15 years of athletics administrative and coaching experience.  She most recently served as the associate athletic director for internal operations, sports administration and business services and senior woman administrator at Nova Southeastern University (NSU).

“Angie has a professional reputation of honor and excellence, which are vital characteristics for a Fighting Knight,” said Crosby. “Her experiences as a student-athlete, coach and accomplished administrator will serve Lynn in our pursuit to become a model higher education athletics department. Angie demonstrates Spirit, Service and Strength.  My wife Cindy and I welcome Angie and her husband, Jim to the Lynn community.” 

In her new role with the Fighting Knights, Jabir will oversee the department’s policies and procedures, coordinate NCAA bids and other budgetary items, manage sports performance and healthcare administration, serve as the Title IX liaison and supervise student-athlete conduct.

“I am honored to join Lynn’s athletics department and its broader community,” Jabir adds.  “Lynn is a very student-centered organization, and I am looking forward to seeing its innovation at work.  I also look forward to building relationships with the coaches, faculty, staff, and student-athletes.”  

While at NSU, Jabir served as the sport administrator for 10 of the Sharks’ varsity sports teams, including men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, track and field and cross country, volleyball and rowing.  She also worked on gender equity and Title IX issues all NSU reports to the NCAA and Sunshine State Conference.  Jabir also developed NSU’s Achieve in Medicine (AIM) program, focused on improving student-athlete’s mental health. 

Following a playing career at Eastern Illinois (1997-01) Jabir coached at Cleveland State for three seasons and at the University of Dayton for three years.  In 2012, Jabir began her administrative career as the director of business and student services at Dayton.  She later became the associate athletics director for sports programs/academics before joining NSU in 2017.
