Broward cities to collect hazardous waste for disposal

The cities of Coral Springs, Coconut Creek, Tamarac, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, North Lauderdale, and Lauderdale Lakes have established a cooperative agreement that allows residents the opportunity to dispose of special household hazardous waste throughout the year. 

Items accepted for collection include paint, electronics, bulbs, antifreeze, auto batteries, motor oil, pool chemicals, pesticides, and other household hazardous waste. Prohibited items include tires, gasoline, and needles.

The Coral Springs Special HHW Collection days will take place at Westside Complex (4181 NW 121 Ave) on the following dates: 

  • Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • May 7, 2022: Tamarac (6011 Nob Hill Road)
  • June 4, 2022: Pompano Beach (1660 NE 10th Street)
  • August 27, 2022: North Lauderdale (701 SW 71st Ave)
  • September 10, 2022: Coconut Creek (4800 W. Copans Road)
  • November 5, 2022: Pompano Beach (1660 NE 10th Street)
  • November 12, 2022: Ft. Lauderdale (2201 NW 9th Ave)
  • December 3, 2022: Tamarac (6011 Nob Hill Road) 

Coral Springs residents may drop off bulk trash & yard waste every weekend at the Waste Transfer Station (12600 Wiles Road) during normal operating hours; Saturday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday (12 to 5 p.m.) On the first Saturday and Sunday of the month, residents may drop off paint, fluorescent light bulbs, and electronic equipment.
