American Athletic Conference Announces Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the penultimate week of the regular season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jordan Ivy-Curry, Jr., G, UTSA

Ivy-Curry came off the bench for the Roadrunners and averaged 26.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in wins over Tulsa and at SMU. The junior shot 50 percent from the field (17-34) and 60 percent from 3-point range (9-15). He had 20 points and seven rebounds against the Golden Hurricane before dropping 33 points against SMU in Dallas.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

PJ Haggerty, G, Tulsa

Haggerty averaged 25.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in two games for the Golden Hurricane last week. He recorded a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds against UTSA before scoring 21 points in a win at Temple on Saturday.

HONOR ROLL

Vladislav Goldin, Jr., C, Florida Atlantic

Goldin recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds in the Owls’ win over Tulane on Saturday.

David Jones, Sr., F, Memphis

Jones averaged 25.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals in wins at East Carolina and at home against UAB.

Chris Youngblood, Sr., G, South Florida

Youngblood scored 17 points and added three rebounds as the Bulls’ defeated Charlotte on the road to clinch the regular-season title and the No. 1 seed for the American Men’s Basketball Championship.

Cobe Williams, Sr., G, Tulsa

Williams averaged 14.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in two games for the Golden Hurricane.

Colby Rogers, Jr., G, Wichita State

Rogers averaged 27.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals as the Shockers picked up wins at UAB and at home against Rice.
