Quarterback RYAN TANNEHILL of the Tennessee Titans, defensive end MAXX CROSBY of the Las Vegas Raiders and kicker DANIEL CARLSON of the Las Vegas Raiders are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played in Week 18 (January 8-9).

OFFENSE: QB RYAN TANNEHILL, TENNESSEE TITANS

  • Tannehill completed 23 of 32 pass attempts (71.9 percent) for 287 yards and tied a career-high with four touchdowns passes with no interceptions for a 138.9 rating in Tennessee’s 28-25 win over Houston to secure the top seed in the AFC playoffs. He led the AFC in both passing touchdowns and rating in Week 18.
  • This is Tannehill’s third career Offensive Player of the Week award and second with the Titans:
    • 2015: Week 7 (with Miami)
    • 2019: Week 14 (with Tennessee)
    • 2021: Week 18 (with Tennessee)
  • He joins Marcus Mariota (four-time winner), Steve McNair (four) and Vince Young (two) as Tennessee quarterbacks to earn the honor multiple times.
  • Tannehill becomes the first former Texas A&M Aggie to win three Offensive Player of the Week award.

DEFENSE: DE MAXX CROSBY, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

  • Crosby recorded six tackles, three tackles for loss, three passes defensed and two sacks in Las Vegas’ 35-32 overtime win over the Los Angeles Chargers to secure a playoff berth. Crosby has three games with at least two sacks this season, tied for second-most in the AFC this season.
  • This is the third Defensive Player of the Week award for Crosby (second this season) and fourth overall Player of the Week award:
    • 2019: Week 11
    • 2020: Week 17 (Special Teams)
    • 2021: Weeks 1, 18
  • Crosby’s three defensive Player of the Week awards are tied with linebacker Khalil Mack, cornerback Terry McDaniel and linebacker William Thomas for the most-ever by a Raiders player. He is the first Raider to earn the honor multiple times in a season since Mack (2016).

SPECIAL TEAMS: K DANIEL CARLSON, LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

  • Carlson converted all five field goal attempts – from 24, 31, 40, 47 and 52 yards – as well as making both point after attempts. His 47-yard kick was a game-winner in overtime, earning a 35-32 win over the Los Angeles Chargers to clinch a playoff berth.
  • He is the only player in the league this season with two games of five made field goals.
