XFL Features Five from FIU Football

MIAMI (Feb. 18, 2020) – The number of FIU football alum playing in the professional ranks continues to grow as five Panthers have earned roster spots in the XFL.

The inaugural season of the XFL kicked off earlier this month with Isame Faciane (Houston Roughnecks), Jeremiah McKinnon (New York Guardians), Anthony Johnson (Seattle Dragons), Bryce Canady (Tampa Bay Vipers) and Pharoah McKever (Tampa Bay Vipers) making up FIU’s representatives in the XFL.

In addition to FIU’s five XFL athletes, four Panthers are currently playing in the NFL. T.Y. Hilton, Johnathan Cyprien, Jonnu Smith and Alex McGough round out the list of NFL players, with more soon to follow after this year’s NFL Draft.

After going to a school-record third-straight bowl game last year, the Panthers will seek to continue that winning tradition in 2020 as Butch Davis and the Panthers open the season at home on Thursday, Sept. 3 against Jacksonville State. For the full schedule release, click here.
