WSoc: UAB and Georgia Southern Draw 1-1

STATESBORO, Ga. – In its first road match of the 2022 season, UAB came from behind to draw with Georgia Southern 1-1 on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Eagles (0-1-1) got on the board first when Simone Timm finished on a header off a corner from Erin Wilkins in the 38th minute.
 
The Blazers (1-0-1) got the equalizer in the 71st minute when Morgan Halliwill found a sliding Stella Lawson point blank for the goal.
 

Claire Rea led the Blazers with four shots, three on target. For the second straight match, keepers Anika Toth and Eve Beyer split time evenly. The duo combined for seven saves.

 
Up next, the Blazers return to PNC Field to face Kennesaw State on Aug. 25. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
