WSoc: UAB and Charlotte Draw 0-0 in AAC Opener

CHARLOTTE – Neither team scored in the American Athletic Conference opener for UAB (4-3-2, 0-0-1 AAC) and Charlotte (3-3-1, 0-0-1 AAC) as the match ended deadlocked at 0-0 on Thursday night. 

Anika Toth faced eight shots, turning back all three that were on target to record her third clean sheet of the season. 

The Blazers had six shots, with one on net. Their best scoring opportunity was in the 85th minute when Sidney McGregor passed to Maiya Clark, whose shot missed by inches on the right side. 

Up next is the Blazers’ AAC home opener against East Carolina Sept. 21. The Pirates (5-2-2, 1-0-0 AAC) defeated Florida Atlantic earlier tonight. 

INDIVIDUAL GAME TICKETS

GOLD CARD 

Women’s Soccer season tickets are available for $65 by purchasing the 2023-24 Gold Card. The Gold Card will allow you to gain access to all home events for Women’s Soccer, Men’s Soccer, Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Softball, and Baseball (Regions Field & Young Memorial). This card is not valid for American Athletic Conference or NCAA Championship events. 

BLAZER BUDDIES KIDS CLUB 

Blazer Buddies is the new official kids club of UAB Athletics and is open to all kids ages 12 and under. Blazer Buddies will receive a Blazer Buddies Kids Club ID which grants admission to all home men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball, softball, and baseball games. Blazer Buddies Kids Club members will also be eligible for discounted tickets to the UAB football game versus Louisiana on Sept. 16 and select men’s basketball games.
