Women’s Swimming Pounces on Panthers, Wins Second-Straight Dual

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University’s women’s swimming team won its second consecutive dual meet on Saturday afternoon, defeating Florida Tech 153-108 at home.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

·         Samantha Beck, Ewa Osiniak and Karolina Smylek each won three events to lead Lynn to victory.

·         Beck claimed victory in the 100-breaststroke, 200-breaststroke and 200-IM.

·         Osiniak won three different freestyle races, taking first in the 50-free, 100-free and 200-free. 

·         Smylek finished first in the 100 and 200-backstrokes and finished tied with teammate Clara Monges for first in the 100-fly.

·         Samar Khacha notched a first-place finish in the 200-fly with a time of 2:11.51 and followed that with her second event victory of the day, taking the 500-free in 5:19.55.

BEYOND THE HEAT SHEET:

·         Lynn’s women won every event except for the 1000 free.

·         Smylek and Monges tied in the 100-fly with identical times of 58.26.

·         Smylek and Osiniak won three events each for the second-straight dual.
