BIRMINGHAM – Stella Kiss, Lexxe Lipsey and Audria Wood all earned spots on the C-USA Women’s Soccer All-Academic First Team, the conference announced today. The marks only the second time in program history that three UAB student-athletes have made the first team.
Kiss, a junior accounting major, has earned the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and has been a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She is second on the Blazers with six goals and 13 points. She’s recorded three game-winning goals, the most recent coming in Saturday’s win over LA Tech that clinched a spot in the C-USA Championship for the Blazers. Kiss’ GPA is 3.96.
Lipsey, a senior who is working on her MBA, graduated Summa Cum Laude in December 2020 with a degree in English and a minor in Spanish. An NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program recipient and a UAB Presidential Honor Roll honoree, she also has won the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports-Scholar Award and was a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Lipsey also made the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Lipsey is tied for the C-USA overall lead with eight goals and is atop the league with 17 points. She had a 4.0 undergrad and a 3.5 graduate GPA at UAB.
Wood, a senior who is working on her undergrad degree in biology and a master in public health degree, has earned the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and has been a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She has also appeared on the UAB Dean’s and President’s Lists. She has helped anchor a defensive line with a goals-against-average of 1.26 with two shutouts. Wood has a 4.0 undergraduate GPA.
The Blazers begin their quest for the Conference USA title on Tuesday morning when they take on WKU at 11 a.m. in the quarterfinal round.
