Women’s Golf – #3 Sharks Conclude Season at NCAA National Championship

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – The third-ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks Women’s Golf team concluded their 2024 season at the NCAA National Championship tournament with an 11th place finish (+20/299/292/293) in the final round of stroke play on Thursday afternoon at the Panther Lake course at Orange County National. Ellen Andersson paced the Sharks throughout the tournament, finishing in a tie for 14th place (E/72/67/77).

How it Happened
  • Maia Samuelsson, opening the final round of stroke play for the Sharks, began the round with plenty of momentum. Samuelsson parred 5-of-6 holes to start the round, adding a birdie, but followed with back-to-back bogeys before closing the front-nine with her second birdie.
  • Samuelsson ended the tournament with another six pars on the back-nine and shot a 75, her best round of play. 
  • Haruka Muta also added her best round of play at the NCAA National Championship, recording a 71 on the afternoon. 
  • Muta tallied a pair of birdies on both the front and back-nines, while totaling 11 pars in the round. 
  • After starting the afternoon with a bogey, Ellen Ramstedt settled in nicely, recording seven consecutive pars on the front-nine. Following the turn, Ramstedt shot a bogey-free back-nine, adding a birdie on 14, closing the tournament with a 73, her best performance of the championship. 
  • Jimena Marques was steady throughout Thursday’s action, tallying six pars and a birdie across the front-nine. After the turn, Marques added another eight pars, finishing the round with a 74, her top performance of the tournament. 
  • Ellen Andersson placed inside the top-15 at the NCAA National Championship, recording an even-par across three rounds of action. Andersson closed out the tournament with an eagle, finishing the afternoon with a 77.
