BIRMINGHAM – Four Blazers scored in double-figures led by Zakyia Weathersby’s team-high 20 points in UAB’s 85-57 victory over Spring Hill in an exhibition game on Friday night.

“I love exhibition games because it gives you the opportunity to play everybody. You get to look at some different lineups and combinations,” said head coach Randy Norton. “I feel really positive about this game. I saw a lot of great things and I liked how we shot the ball tonight.”

UAB shot 56% from the field, making 31-of-55 shots. They hit 5-of-11 from 3-point range for 38% and were 18-of-24 from the free throw line for 75%. The Blazers outrebounded the Badgers 30-25 and outscored them in the paint 46-20.

“Everything starts with Kyia. She’s going to score and she’s going to rebound. And with Destinee, those two are going to be hard to stop. It’s great to have them both.”
