Eleven games broadcast nationally, including a Big Monday appearance, and home-and-home with UConn highlight conference slate

TAMPA (SEPT. 19, 2019) – Entering his 19th season as head coach of the USF women’s basketball program, Jose Fernandez announced the Bulls’ 2019-20 American Athletic Conference (AAC) schedule on Thursday, a schedule that is highlighted by 11 games broadcast nationally – including an appearance on ESPN’s Big Monday – and home-and-home dates with UConn.

The Bulls will play 10 games on ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3, and make an appearance on the CBS Sports Network (CBSSN). In addition, the Green and Gold will play three times on the American Digital Network (ADN).

We are excited about this year’s conference schedule, but we can’t control who and when we play,” said Fernandez. “We have always played UConn on the last night of the regular season and this year is no different, and we welcome that challenge again on a national stage. One thing that we can control is the months of November and December during the nonconference schedule because we choose those games. I think that there is no doubt that we have one of the toughest nonconference schedules in the country and that will prepare us for conference play.

The Bulls open the New Year with three of the first five AAC games played on the road, however, the first of those five will be in the Yuengling Center on Jan. 5, when Cincinnati (ESPN2) comes to Tampa. USF then hits then road for the first time in conference play with back-to-back games at Tulsa (CBSSN) on Jan. 12, and at Temple (ESPN3) on Jan. 16. USF returns to Tampa for the first of two editions of the War on I-4, as UCF travels west to the Yuengling Center for a Jan. 19 meeting with the Bulls on ESPN2, before closing out the five-game stretch on Jan. 22 at Wichita State (ADN).

USF closes out the month of January and begins February with the benefit of a favorable home schedule as three of four games will be played in Tampa. Tulane and Houston (ADN) kick off the stretch with consecutive home games on Jan. 25 and Jan. 29, respectively, before starting February at Cincinnati (ESPNU) on Feb. 2 and returning home to butt heads with Temple on Jan. 9 (ESPNU).

After a trip to the Big Easy to face Tulane (ESPN3) in New Orleans on Feb. 12, the Bulls will welcome UConn to the Yuengling Center for the final time as an AAC member on Feb. 16 (ESPN3/SNY). A pair of road tilts follow at UCF on Feb. 19 (ESPN3), in the second game of the War on I-4, and at Memphis (ESPN3) on Feb. 22.

USF closes out its regular season home conference schedule with two games in the Yuengling Center against East Carolina on Feb. 25 (ADN) and SMU on Feb. 29.

The Bulls will make their final trip to the Constitution State to face UConn as conference foes when the two meet at the XL Center in Hartford on March 2. The Bulls and Huskies will face off on ESPN’s signature night of college basketball, Big Monday, in front of a national television audience on ESPN2.

Once again, the American Athletic Conference Tournament will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., March 6-9.
