USF WBB Returns Home on Sunday to Face Temple on Autism Awareness Day

The Bulls look for their seventh win in the last 10 games when the Owls visit the Yuengling Center.

TAMPA (Feb. 7, 2020) – USF returns to the Yuengling Center on Sunday to face Temple, in the first of two games that the Bulls will play at home over their next five outings. Tip-off is slated for noon and can be seen live on ESPNU. Sunday’s game will also be Autism Awareness Day.

– Sydni Harvey is starting to get back to her old self after missing the first 10 games of the season due to a leg injury … Harvey is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.1 points per game, and has scored double figures in five of the last seven games played … She set a career high for three-point shots made in a game with six at Tulsa (6-for-7) on Jan. 16.

SCOUTING TEMPLE

– Temple comes into its game with USF with a 13-9 overall record and a 5-4 mark in The American, following its 85-75 loss to Wichita State on Feb. 5 … The loss was just the Owls’ third in their last 10 games.

– Mia Davis leads Temple in both scoring and rebounding, netting 19.5 points and grabbing 10.9 rebounds per game this season … She is second in The American in scoring, and tops in the AAC in rebounding, and is the only player in the league averaging a double-double, through games of Feb. 6 … Ashley Jones is second on the team in scoring, netting 16.0 points per game, and Marissa Mackins third, averaging 14.0 points per contest.
 
THE SERIES AGAINST THE OWLS
– Sunday’s game marks the 16th meeting between USF and Temple with the Bulls holding a 12-3 series lead, dating back to the inaugural meeting in January of 2014 … USF is 4-1 all-time against the Owls in Tampa.

– The two schools met on Jan. 16 in Philadelphia, with Temple handing the Bulls a tough 69-66 loss … USF got a career-high 20 points from Elena Tsineke and Sydni Harvey finished in double figures for the third straight outing scoring 19 points.
