USF WBB: L’or Mputu Double-Double Sends South Florida To Victory Over North Texas, 65-58

Tampa, Fla. – Feb. 1, 2025 – Senior forward L’or Mputu (14 points, 10 rebounds) collared her fourth double-double of the season in South Florida women’s basketball’s (15-8, 8-2), 65-58, win against North Texas (16-6, 8-2) inside the Yuengling Center on Saturday night. The Bulls are now on a four-game hot streak after snapping the Mean Green’s five-game win stretch.

Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh led the Bulls with 15 points and matched a career-best five assists, along with seven rebounds. Junior forward Carla Brito added 12 points, four rebounds, a pair of assists, and a single steal. Graduate guard Mama Dembele (five assists) has dished out five or more assists in 14 games this season.

North Texas was led by Tommisha Lampkin who had a 19-point and 15-rebound double-double performance.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED

In the third quarter, the Bulls executed a 17-4 scoring run over six minutes. Mputu scored 10 of her 14 points within the stretch and South Florida held a 47-38 lead with three minutes left in the third stanza. The Bull’s lead swelled as high as 12 points in the final frame as USF went on to capture the win.
