USF WBB: Blasigh And Johansson Shine In Bulls 83-57 Win Against Grambling

Tampa, Fla. Nov. 13, 2023 – Freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh posted a career-best 21-point effort in South Florida women’s basketball’s (3-0), 83-57 win versus Grambling State (1-2) on Monday night at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.

Sophomore center Emma Johansson joined Blasigh with a career-high 12 points and grabbed a personal-best nine boards against the Tigers.

The Bulls shared the rock tonight, as eight performers dished out assists. Sophomore guard Marina Asensio collected a team-leading five assists on the night, while senior guard Maria Alvarez followed with four.

The visiting Tigers were led by junior guard Douthshine Prien and sophomore guard Jazmyne Jackson with 12 points apiece.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

  • With the victory, USF remains undefeated against Grambling St., as the Bulls have captured all three meetings.
  • Blasigh has scored in double-digits in two-of-three games to open the season.
  • Evelien Lutje Schipholt started her first contest for the green and gold and Carla Brito appeared in the starting lineup for the first time this season.
