USF Volleyball: Hazan Tabbed AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Ragan Kinard was named to the Honor Roll. 

Irving, Texas, October 2, 2023 – Sophomore outside hitter, Buse Hazan (Istanbul, Turkey) was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, while junior Ragan Kinard (Lynn Haven) earned a spot on the honor roll.  

South Florida improved to 4-1 in the AAC, making it the best start in the conference play and giving the Bulls the top spot in the AAC East standings. This is the second Offensive Player of the Week for the Bulls this season.  

Hazan finished the weekend with 33 kills, 11 digs, four blocks, and four service aces. She averaged 5.50 kills per set and had a .393 hitting percentage.  

Kinard led the Bulls with eight blocks this weekend, averaging two blocks per set. She finished the weekend with a .364 hitting percentage.  

UP NEXT 

Hazan, Kinard, and the South Florida volleyball team will take their talents out west for a pair of road matches against UTSA on Oct. 6 and Wichita State on Oct. 8.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her fourth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2023. Named head coach on Jan. 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls’ program to its last conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. USF made its last postseason appearance in 2018, posting 20 wins and appearing in the NIVC. USF Volleyball has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and won 12 conference titles since its inception in 1972.
