USF Volleyball announces 2022 schedule

The Bulls will play 16 home matches, including five in the Yuengling Center.

TAMPA (June 22, 2022) – University of South Florida head volleyball coach Jolene Shepardson has announced the 2022 schedule for her third season at the helm of the Bulls.

South Florida’s full slate includes 32 total matches with 16 set to be played in Tampa, including five at the Yuengling Center.

All home matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.

“Our competition this year is set up to help increase our RPI and better prepare us for conference play,” Shepardson said of the schedule. “I am also extremely grateful to Michael Kelly for letting us play more matches in the Yuengling Center this season. We had a tremendous turnout last year in our one event at the arena with a fabulous environment.”

USF hosted UCF in the Yuengling Center in 2021 in front of a crowd of nearly 2,000 fans.

The Bulls open their 2022 campaign against William & Mary on Friday, August 26 at 12:30 p.m. at The Corral. USF will also play Ball State at 7 p.m. and South Alabama on August 27th at 1 p.m. Those three teams will also face off against each other as part of a season-opening tournament in Tampa.

USF will then hit the road for tournaments at Stony Brook on September 2-3 and UTSA on September 9-10. The Bulls will take on Stony Brook, Georgetown and Maryland in Stony Brook, N.Y., and UT Arlington, UTSA and McNeese State in San Antonio, Texas.

The Bulls wrap up non-conference action with another home tournament on September 16-17 which will include matches against Cornell, Stetson and South Dakota.

American play begins on the road with matches at SMU on September 23rd and Memphis on September 25th.

AAC action then comes to Tampa with matches on Friday, September 30 against Tulsa and Sunday, October 2 versus Wichita State. Both matches will be played inside the Yuengling Center.

The Bulls will be back on the road for road matches at Tulane (Oct. 7) and Houston (Oct. 9) before hosting ECU (Oct. 14) and Temple (Oct. 16).

The first matchup of the season against Central Florida will take place in Orlando on October 19th to open a stretch of four straight road matches. USF will also travel to Cincinnati, Wichita State and Tulsa before returning home.

The Bulls then open a four-match homestand with the first three being played in the Yuengling Center on Friday, November 4 (Memphis), Sunday, November 6 (SMU) and Wednesday, November 9 (UCF). The homestand concludes inside The Corral on Friday, November 11 against Cincinnati.

USF’s final road trip of the year takes the Bulls to Temple (Nov. 18) and ECU (Nov. 20), before returning home to close out the regular season against Houston (Nov. 23) and Tulane (Nov. 25).

“We have a very deep roster this year with some wonderful returners that got a lot of valuable experience last year, and have shown great improvement during the spring, along with some talented newcomers,” Shepardson said of her team.

In her third season with the Bulls, Marta Cvitkovic headlines the returning players after being named to the American All-Conference Team as a true freshman and leading USF in kills each of the last two years. CC Clausen enters her senior season ranked second all-time in program history in digs (1,630).

Amanda DeWitt, Amiree Hendricks-Walker, Ragan Kinard and Tizi Puljiz each made big impacts for the Bulls as true freshman in 2021 and will be joined by eight newcomers to the 2022 roster.
