TAMPA, Oct. 9, 2020 – For the second straight year, USF students attending Bulls athletics events throughout the year can build points toward many big prizes, including driving away in a lime green 2020 Mustang donated by Ford of Wesley Chapel, Terry Mullane and the Parks family from Parks Motor Group.

“We are very excited to once again give USF students the opportunity to win a new car just by displaying their energy, passion and support for Bulls Athletics,” Vice President of Athletics Michael Kelly said. “We had so much fun rewarding our most passionate students last year, we wanted to continue the tradition and are once again grateful to Terry Mullane, the Parks family and the Parks Motor Group for helping us make this happen.”

The lime green Mustang will be on display at Saturday night’s homecoming football game vs. ECU at Raymond James Stadium, the first to allow fans in 2020, and throughout the year at multiple USF Athletic events. The ECU game is set for a 7 p.m. kickoff on ESPN+.

Students can win the vehicle simply by downloading and activating the HerdPerks app and attending games for all USF sports, as well as other USF Athletics events around campus and the Bay area. Students’ attendance will be logged via geofencing on the HerdPerks app, which can be downloaded HERE.

The official student app of USF Athletics, HerdPerks app takes the student fan experience to the next level and allows students to get rewarded for their loyalty and attendance. This year due to COVID-19, the Herd Perks program will include more opportunities for students to engage with USF teams, coaches and events virtually. All Herd Perks events will have virtual check in options for students and the app now offers other ways to earn points, such as participating in Trivia Tuesday’s, Spirit Fridays or a number of virtual events. The more students engage with the app, the higher they will rank among their peers and the better chance they will have of winning fan prizes.

Last year, Billy Ferris, a freshman from Michigan, was surprised with the news that he had won a 2019 Ford EcoSport SE during a spring Zoom call that included 12 USF head coaches, Vice President of Athletics Michael Kelly and Terry Mullane, Vice President/General Manager of Parks Ford. Other prizes award included a $500 textbook scholarship won by Abbey Bryan, a vacation getaway for two from Hilton hotels won by James Beneduce, and a $500 dinning plan from USF Dinning Services won by Thomas Divito.

All events earning points will be listed on the Herd Perks app.

Other prizes to be presented to USF students with the most Herd Perks points at the conclusion of the 2020-21 USF Athletics season, include:

  • Partner discounts at on and off campus dining locations
  • Free Chick-fil-A for a semester
  • Free Starbucks for a semester
  • Free pizza for a year
  • A Coca-Cola tailgate package
  • Custom USF memorabilia
