USF Softball: USF Softball Set for In-State Battle with No. 9 Florida; Welcomes Wichita State for Alumni Weekend


TAMPA, April 9, 2024– The University of South Florida Softball team will head to Gainesville for an in-state battle with the No. 9 Florida Gators on Wednesday before coming home to host Wichita State for a three-game conference series this Friday through Thursday.

South Florida is coming off a series sweep over the Memphis Tigers this past weekend. The Bulls outscored the Tigers 31-10. Payton Dixon (Smyrna, Del.) pitched 11 innings, holding the Tigers scoreless in 10 innings. She earned her second AAC Pitcher of the Week honor after her performance.

Olivia Elliott (Tampa) earned a spot on the AAC Honor Roll after her performance this past weekend. In her 10 plate appearances, she earned four hits, one double, and one home run. Elliott batted in three runs while scoring five herself.

Alexa Galligani (White Plains, N.Y.) is currently on a 14-game on-base streak, the longest on the team. It started on March 12 in the Bulls’ first game of their doubleheader against Colgate. Alanah Rivera (St. Petersburg) follows with a nine-game on-base streak.
