The Bulls are back on the road to continue conference play

TAMPA, Fla. April 22, 2021 – The University of South Florida softball team continues its conference schedule on the road at Wichita State for a four-game series over the weekend. The series kicks off on Friday at 1 p.m. ET.

Wichita State leads the all-time series, 6-4. USF took the last meeting in the series, a 1-0 victory on May 5, 2019.

With a sweep this weekend, Ken Eriksen would hit 1,000 career victories as a head coach. He would be the 28th NCAA Division I softball coach to accomplish the feat and the 15th active NCAA DI active coach to hit the mark.


Opponent

Wichita State is 32-6-1 on the season and is coming off a 5-2 loss to Kansas on April 21. In its last conference series, the Shockers nearly swept UCF, winning three of four and forcing a tie in the last game due to travel constraints.

Sydney McKinney leads WSU on offense, hitting .440 in 141 at bats with five home runs and 23 RBIs. Addison Barnard has hit a team-leading 18 homers for the Shockers, driving home 47 RBIs. In the circle, Bailey Lange has paced Wichita State in the circle, tossing a 1.99 ERA in 123.0 IP.
