TAMPA, Fla. April 16, 2021 – The University of South Florida softball team remains at home for a three-game set against the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles. The series consists of a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 5 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Due to virus mitigation measures and the size of the venue, fan attendance at USF Softball Stadium will be via team pass list only. All regular-season home games during the 2021 season will be broadcast on the ESPN+ platform.

USF leads the all-time series 9-4. The Bulls took the last meeting in 2019, a 1-0 win at USF Softball Stadium. FGCU’s last win came in 2018 when they swept a doubleheader against the Bulls.


Opponent

FGCU sits at 20-13 on the season. The team is coming off an 8-0 loss in six innings to Kennesaw State on April 9. The Eagles also won a 7-0 decision against Bellarmine on April 9.

Johneisha Rowe leads FGCU on offense, hitting .382 in 102 at bats this season. She’s also tallied 30 runs scored so far this campaign. Reedy Davenport paces the Eagles offense behind her, hitting .315 with eight doubles and 22 RBIs. In the circle, Melissa Mesiemore has a 3.45 ERA in 89.1 innings with a 11-4 record.
