With Sunday’s win, USF (39-17, 17-4) enters The American Championship as the top seed for the third time in the past four seasons. The Bulls will open tournament play at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, squaring off with No. 8 Memphis (22-32, 3-17). USF swept the Tigers in conference play in late April.
Tulsa (35-17, 16-5) was the only team in The American to win every conference series this season, capping off the regular season schedule by winning two of three games at UConn. The Golden Hurricane will meet No. 7 seed ECU (22-31, 4-17) at 5 p.m. ET, having taken two of three games against the Pirates earlier in the spring.
This year’s tournament host, Houston (37-16, 12-7) is the No. 3 seed and will open the tournament against the No. 6 seed UConn (21-29, 8-13) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. The No. 4 seed Wichita State (31-24, 12-9) takes on No. 5 seed UCF (33-20, 10-10) at 1:30 p.m. ET.
