TAMPA, FEB. 14, 2020 – Back and ready for the new year, the USF women’s sailing team opens 2020 at home Saturday and Sunday.

The USF Women’s Intersectional Regatta will feature 10 schools competing this weekend. Among the 10 are University of Hawaii, Southern California, Washington, and Miami.

Two of the three starting teams will be competing for the Bulls; Marina Bazaghi and Carolina Rovira in the A division, and the freshmen duo of Syndey Monahan and Lily Theisen in the B division. Chloe Sweeting will be ready in her position as the power crew and backup skipper.

Conditions for Saturday look perfect, with winds in the 8-12 knot range, gusting up to 20 early in the day. Sunday’s forecast calls for lighter winds, but sunny for the guest teams.

“With a very busy traveling schedule this spring, the team welcomes this opportunity to start out the season with the home waters advantage”, said head coach Allison Jolly.About USF Sailing
