USF MGolf: Bergstrom Earns Third All-America Honor

Four-Time All-Region honoree set 13 program records, including career and season scoring average and rounds of par or better

TAMPA, FLA., JUNE 8, 2022 – USF men’s golf standout Albin Bergstrom (Falsterbo, Sweden) earned his third career All-America selection when he was named to the NCAA Division I PING All-American Honorable Mention team.

His selection came on the heels of his fourth NCAA Division I PING All-Southeast Region Team honor, as he finished the season with the No. 16 national scoring rating from GolfStat.

The 2022 AAC Golfer of the Year and 2021 AAC Golf Championship individual medalist has set 13 program records on his career and ranks second in seven and third in two. Among those are career scoring average (70.49), season scoring average (70.00, 2018-19), career rounds of par or better (86), season rounds of par or better (30, 2021-22), career finish percentage (83%), season counting rounds (33, 97.4%, 2021-22) and season birdies (157, 2021-22).

Bergstrom has earned three All-Conference honors, was named to the 2019 Division I All-Freshman Team and the AAC Freshman of the Year and is a two-time Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar on his way to a third recognition. He earned his degree from USF this spring in integrated public relations and advertising.

He posted eight top 10 finishes in 2021-22 and his 70.21 stroke average on the year led USF and was just off his own program record of 70.0 set in 2018-19 and gives him the top three season averages in USF history. He led USF to its ninth straight NCAA Regional appearance and just the program’s fourth NCAA Championship berth on the year.

About USF Men’s Golf
USF men’s golf program has captured 18 conference titles, including in 2021, and have seen players earn 19 All-America honors. The Bulls have won five American Athletic Conference Tournament championships in wire-to-wire fashion, winning four-consecutive from 2015-18.
