Bergstrom leads the way with a 6-under-par 204 to finish T11.
TAMPA, FEB. 13, 2021 – The USF men’s golf team posted final two rounds of 272 and 276 to finish at 12-under-par 828 and tied for eighth among a very tough field Saturday at the 2021 Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
Among the 21-team field that featured nine teams in the latest Golfweek Top 25 rankings and 11 SEC teams, host Florida, which entered ranked No. 22 nationally, won with a 29-under-par score of 811 on the par 70, 6,701-yard Mark Bostick Golf Course. The top five was rounded out by No. 5 Georgia (816), No. 14 Auburn (816), LSU (819) and Liberty (820).
The Bulls finished tied for eighth with No. 4 Tennessee and just behind No. 2 Vanderbilt in seventh. USF also outpaced No. 11 Arkansas, No. 19 South Carolina and No. 23 North Florida in the field.
Sophomore Albin Bergstrom (Ljunghusen, Sweden) paced the Bulls for the second-straight tournament firing rounds of 69, 65 and 70 to finish tied for 11th at 6-under-par 204. Auburn’s Andrew Kozan won the individual title with an 11-under-par 199.
Freshman Sam Nicholson (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) finished tied for 28th for the Bulls with a 3-under-par 207, while sophomore Luke Gifford (Boca Raton) finished tied for 42nd with a 1-under 209. Senior Kyle Flexsenhar (Lake Mary, Fla.) shot 2-over-par 212 to finish 71st, followed by freshman Run Youprayong (Bangkok, Thailand) at 6-over-par 216 in 90th and
The Bulls are back in action next week at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Feb. 19-21.

USF men’s golf program has captured 16 conference titles and seen players earn 18 All-America honors.
