Flowers & Mitchell among Bulls returning for homecoming game and events

TAMPA, NOV. 4, 2021 – Two-time, first-team All-American and six-year NFL defensive lineman George Selvie will return to Fowler Ave. on Friday night to serve as the grand marshal of the Running of the Bulls Homecoming Parade on the USF campus.

Selvie will be among several Bulls returning to campus this weekend as the Bulls celebrate USF homecoming and 25 years of Bulls football.

Also returning for Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. clash with Houston (ESPNU) will be 2016 American Conference Player of the Year and two-time Birmingham Bowl MVP Quinton Flowers, owner of 42 USF records and one of four players in FBS history to post over 8,000 yards passing and 3,500 rushing on their career. Flowers will be recognized on the field in Raymond James Stadium during the break following the completion of the first quarter.

Also joining in the homecoming festivities will be former Bulls’ linebackers Sam Barrington, Kawika Mitchell and Tashon Whitehurst. The three will join longtime Bay area sportswriter Joey Johnston, who authored the commemorative book The Silver Stampede: 25th Anniversary of South Florida Football (available for purchase HERE), for a lively discussion of USF football at the USF Alumni Association Welcome Home Party on the Alumni Center lawn located off USF Alumni Drive on campus. The group will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. and will sign commemorative books following the event.

Game tickets can be purchased by calling or texting 1-800-GoBulls or by visiting USFBULLSTIX.com.
