For the third season, the USF Football Radio Show will air live from WOB on Fowler
Louk leads football radio team for 23rd season
TAMPA, FLA., AUG. 27, 2019 – The USF Football Radio Show debuts on Tuesday and will return to World of Beer on East Fowler Ave. (near the USF campus) for the third season.
The show will be broadcast live from 7-8 p.m. this year, shifting back one hour, and can be heard on 95.3 WDAE (620 AM) during most broadcasts that don’t conflict with Rays baseball. Tuesday’s debut show will be broadcast on 1250 AM WHNZ and the show can always be heard on Bulls Unlimited on iHeart Radio. The USF Football Radio Show will broadcast on Thursdays for Saturday games and on Tuesdays for mid-week games.
USF head coach Charlie Strong will meet fans weekly at the show and fans will have an opportunity to take pictures with the third-year leader of the Bulls. The show will also feature a head coach of one of USF Athletics other 18 teams during each broadcast. Bulls fans that attend the show in USF gear will receive one free flatbread for their table and fans will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the show. Jim Louk returns for his 23rd season as The Voice of the Bulls and will be joined by former Bulls and NFL linebacker Sam Barrington, who returns for his second campaign in the analyst chair. The pair will host the USF Football Radio Show weekly and anchor game day broadcasts of the Bulls. On game days, Louk and Barrington will again be joined by sideline reporter Joey Johnston and the Bulls pregame and postgame shows will be feature Jim Lighthall, Darek Sharp and Jay Recher. The first hour of the two-hour football pregam show will air exclusively on “Bulls Unlimited” on iHeart Radio.
Beginning in the 2019-20 season, USF football games will be broadcast on 95.3 WDAE (96.7 FM/620 AM), the highest rated sports station in the Tampa Bay region, as well as USF’s popular “Bulls Unlimited” digital radio offering on iHeart Radio. WDAE airing USF football games live on three stations that simulcast the WDAE signal – 95.3 FM, 96.7 FM and 620 AMm – except when conflicts arise with Tampa Bay Rays baseball games. When Rays game conflicts exist, USF football games will air on WHNZ 1250 AM over the air and continue to be carried on the “Bulls Unlimited.”
USF opens the season on Friday with an ESPN primetime clash with Wisconsin at 7 p.m. in Raymond James Stadium. Friday’s season opener vs. No. 17 Wisconsin will be carried on WHNZ 1250 AM over the radio waves.

ABOUT USF FOOTBALL
Having completed just its 22nd season of football, and 19th at the FBS level, the USF football program has earned 10 bowl appearances, including a current run of four straight, and owns a record of 6-3 in bowl games. The Bulls have appeared in the national top 25 rankings in each of the past three seasons, including a program record run of 20 straight weeks in the top 25, and in 2018 reached the program’s 150th win faster than any FBS program in state of Florida history. USF has posted a pair of 10-plus win seasons in the last three years, including a program-record 11 wins (11-2) in 2016, and logged 15 winning seasons overall. Since first taking the field in 1997, the USF program has reached as high as No. 2 in the national rankings (2007), seen 30 players selected in the NFL Draft, 14 named All-American and 29 earn first-team all-conference selection.
