USF FOOTBALL: Fan Appreciation Day Saturday to Feature Over $55K in Prizes

14th War on I-4 Clash will feature 17 Seniors honored prior to kickoff;

Fan giveaways at the gates and in the stands throughout the game as well as regular random premium prize awards throughout the contest;

TAMPA, NOV. 21, 2022– Fans clad in USF Green and Gold can enjoy over $55,000 in giveaway items, including a pair of Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert tickets, Saturday when USF and UCF collide for the 14th meeting of the War on I-4 before a national television audience at Raymond James Stadium.

The Bulls will honor 17 seniors prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2 and prizes will be flowing at the gates and in the stands throughout the contest.

Fans in attendance and wearing USF Green and Gold will receive prizes at the gates and throughout the game, with prize breaks at every timeout and quarter break rewarding fans in the stands. Lucky rows will be rewarded with USF Athletics gear, bobbleheads, PDQ gift cards, Busch Gardens tickets, ZooTampa tickets, The Florida Aquarium tickets, Fanatics gift cards, free Bubble Down Car Washes, Dunkin Donuts coupons, and other promotional items for fans wearing USF Green and Gold seated in selected rows.

Premium prizes will be awarded randomly to fans attending the game and confirmed to be wearing USF Green and Gold. Premium prizes include: Two (2) tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Raymond James Stadium (April 13-15), a 65-inch smart television, a Nintendo Switch gaming system, an Apple watch, Cirque Musica tickets, Katt Williams tickets, Harlem Globetrotter tickets and Tampa Bay Lightning tickets. Fans must be present at the game and wearing USF Green and Gold to receive prizes at the gates or in seating rows as well as to be eligible for premium prize drawings.

There will also be an Allstate halftime field goal kick for one USF student to win $1,000.

USF will honor 17 seniors and their families on the field before the game. The seniors honored will be:

DEFENSE: LB Dwayne Boyles, S Vincent Davis, DT Darrien Grant, CB Josh Green, DT Jatorian Hansford, S Mekhi LaPointe, DT Rashawn Yates, DT Jbril Glaze, DT De’Juan Sease;

OFFENSE: C Brad Cecil, G Demetris Harris, T Demontrey Jacobs, WR Latrell Williams, OL Brock Parry, O Alec Valet;

SPECIAL TEAMS: LS Andrew Beardall, P Colin McCreary

Among the group are top 10 all-time leading tackler (7th, 308) and career games played (53) leader Dwayne Boyles. Career starts record holder Demetris Harris (52), five-year starting center Brad Cecil (49 starts), starting tackle Demontrey Jacobs (24 starts) will also be honored as will starting defensive tackles Rashawn Yates (30 starts), Jatorian Hansford (8 starts) and Darrien Grant (7 starts), starting safety Mekhi LaPointe (26 starts), as well as long snapper Andrew Beardall (20 games played). Former safety Vincent Davis, who made 20 career starts and was second on the team in tackles in 2021, will also be honored after being medically disqualified from competing this year.

ABOUT USF FOOTBALL
The USF football program first took the field in 1997 and celebrated its 25th season in 2021 while breaking ground on a $22 million Indoor Performance Facility. The Bulls have posted 15 winning seasons, earned 16 All-America selections, including 2021 consensus All-American Brian Battie, and 31 first-team all-conference selections. USF has had 30 players selected in the NFL Draft and has made 10 bowl games appearances (going 6-4 in those games), posting a program-record six straight appearances from 2005-2010 and most recently making four straight bowl appearances from 2015-18. The Bulls posted back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2016 and 2017, logging a program-record 11-2 mark in 2016 while finishing both seasons ranked in the Top 25. USF spent a program-record 20 straight weeks ranked in the Top 25 during the 2016 and 2017 seasons and reached as high as No. 2 in the national rankings during the 2007 season.
