USF Falls at Cincinnati, 60-55, Ending Three-Game Winning Streak

CINCINNATI (Feb. 2, 2020) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team had three players score in double figures, and held a 13-point lead late in the second quarter, however the Bulls couldn’t hold on down the stretch as Cincinnati came from behind and handed the Green and Gold a 60-55 loss Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena. The loss ends USF’s three game winning streak.
 
Elisa Pinzan (Murano, Italy) led the way with a game-high 19 points, while Elena Tsineke (Thessaloniki, Greece) and Sydni Harvey (Nashville, Tenn.) added 11 and 10 points, respectively.
 
The Bulls led by as many as 13 points, 32-19, on a three-pointer by Pinzan with just under two minutes left in the half. USF led at the break, 32-23, shooting 40 percent (12-of-30) from the field during the first 20 minutes of play.
 
Cincinnati trailed for most of the second half until taking its first lead of the contest, 53-52, with 4:32 left in the game. The Bulls regained a one-point advantage on the next possession, and tied the game with just over to minutes left, but could not stop the Bearcats down the stretch.
 
Cincinnati outscored USF, 15-5, in the final quarter while also forcing the Bulls into a season-high 30 turnovers for the game.
