USF Defeats Tulane, 53-43, for 14th Straight over the Green Wave

NEW ORLEANS (Feb. 13, 2020) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team picked up a much-needed American Athletic Conference road win on Thursday night, defeating Tulane, 53-43 at Fogleman Arena. The win, the Bulls’ 14th straight against the Green Wave, improves USF to 15-9 overall and 7-3 in The American. Tulane falls to 12-12 and 7-4 in the AAC.

Elisa Pinzan (Murano, Italy) poured in a game-high 18 points, and Elena Tsineke (Thessaloniki, Greece) and Bethy Mununga (Zellik, Belgium) each added 11 points in the win. Mununga also hauled down a career-high 17 rebounds – including seven on the offensive glass – for her eighth career double-double. Tsineke had a career-best five assists.

The Green Wave led 7-0 to start the game, however the Bulls used a 10-2 run to take the lead for good. USF shot 35.8 percent from the field in the win and held Tulane to just 29.5 percent from the floor, including a dismal 9.1 percent from behind the three-point arc.
