ormer Bulls quarterback and women’s soccer player to host Varsity Club tailgate at USF-UCF game on Nov. 26
TAMPA, NOV. 17, 2022 – Former USF standout student-athletes BJ Daniels and Lindsay Brauer are taking on leadership of the Bulls Varsity Club with an eye toward growing membership, support and involvement of USF former varsity student-athletes in the current athletics program.
“We are very excited for the opportunity to lead and grow the Bulls Varsity Club and further connect with our many former USF student-athletes,” Daniels said. “Lindsay and I both proudly competed for the Green and Gold and are very passionate about our USF community, university and USF Athletics.”
“You are always a Bull and that passion for the university and our athletics program stays with you,” Brauer said. “We look forward to providing former student-athletes with opportunities to reconnect, share their love for USF and impact our current student-athletes and athletics programs.”
Daniels and Brauer are hosting a Bulls Varsity Club tailgate at the USF vs. UCF football game on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Raymond James Stadium. Details will be sent to all Varsity Club members. Attendees will receive a Bulls Varsity Club t-shirt along with food and beverages prior to kickoff. The Bulls Varsity Club is open to all former USF student-athletes. The Varsity Club holds gatherings for Club members each season as well as a community and networking opportunity with those who share their experience and passion for USF.
Yearly Membership: $120 donation to any USF athletics program or Bulls Cub.

Daniels, a standout Bulls quarterback, was a seventh-round NFL Draft Pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2013 and went on to win a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks. He stands third on USF’s career total offense chart with 10,501 yards after starting 42 games for the Bulls from 2008-12 and leading USF to memorable victories at Florida State and Notre Dame among his 21 wins under center. Daniels now serves as assistant director of development/community & donor engagement in USF Athletics.
Brauer was a forward on Bulls women’s soccer teams from 2005-09, twice earning All-Big East honors, including first-team selection in 2007. She scored 13 goals between the 2006 and 2007 seasons. Brauer currently serves as a development specialist in USF Athletics.

USF Athletics currently sponsors 19 varsity men’s and women’s teams that compete in 11 different sports, 18 at the NCAA Division I level in the American Athletic Conference, which will expand to 21 teams with the recently announced additions of women’s lacrosse (2024-25) and women’s beach volleyball. The Bulls’ athletic program began in 1965 and completed its 55th season in 2020-21. Nearly 450 student-athletes train and compete in the athletic district located on the east end of the campus in Tampa, Fla. The Bulls have claimed 26 American Athletic Conference team titles since joining the conference in 2013, including seven trophies in the 2021 calendar year, and own 139 conference titles in department history. The Bulls have posted a combined annual grade-point average over 3.0 for more than seven straight years and have posted a program-record of 15 straight semesters with a combined GPA over 3.0 as of the spring of 2022. USF has had over 500 student-athletes earn their degree since 2016-17.
