As a UMASS grad I have been waiting a long time to write and say those
words. About any of their sports teams. So, I’ll say it again, the UMASS
Minutemen are your 2021 NCAA Hockey National Champions!!!
UMASS was the winner of college hockey’s Frozen 4 with a 5-0 shutout
of St. Cloud St. Saturday night in Pittsburgh. The Minutemen had 5
different goal scorers with Finland native Filip Lindberg posting the
shutout between the pipes.
Congratulations to coach Greg Carvel and all of his players; several of
which you will be seeing in the near future in the NHL.
I can’t wipe the smile off my face and I’m at a loss for words, so I’ll keep
this article short and to the point – The UMASS hockey team is your
National Champion!!!
