Parker Valby Slated as Finalist for the Honda Sport Award for Cross Country
This marks the second consecutive year Valby has been named a finalist for the award.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Redshirt Junior Parker Valby has been slated as a finalist for the Honda Sport Award for Cross Country for the second consecutive year, as announced by the Executive Director of THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).

The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 48 years to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA sports and recognizes “the best of the best in collegiate athletics”. The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2024 Honda Cup which will be presented during a live telecast on the CBS Sports Network in June.

Valby is one of four finalists for the award as Doris Lemngole and Hilda Olemomoi from the University of Alabama and Olivia Markezich of the University of Notre Dame are also in contention for the honor.
Cross Country finalists were selected from the top finishers at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championship.

The now two-time Honda Award finalist for Cross Country captured the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Individual Championship title after a runner-up finish in 2022. She is also a three-time USTFCCCA All-American in Cross Country and was twice named the SEC Women’s Runner of the Year after back-to-back SEC Cross Country Individual Championships. She also posted four first place finishes during the 2023 season.

The Honda Sport Award winner for cross country will be announced later this week after voting from 1,000 NCAA school concludes.
