The Gators get their first taste of the course that will host the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s and Women’s Cross Country is scheduled to return to action this Saturday, taking on the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals Meet in Madison, Wis.
The race will be the Gators’ first crack at the Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, the home of the 2024 NCAA Cross Country National Championship meets on Nov. 23, 2024.

The Gators were scheduled to compete in the FSU Cross Country Invite on October 11, but were unable to travel to Tallahassee as Hurricane Milton approached the Florida peninsula.
The Pre-Nationals meet will mark the season debuts of many of the Gators top competitors. Hilda Olemomoi will don the Orange and Blue in competition for the first time, one season removed from a fourth-place finish at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships and a Bronze Medal at the 2023 SEC Cross Country Championships.
Seniors Allison Wilson and Liina Winborn, both of whom scored at last years NCAA Championships, are set to make their season debuts in Madison. Highly-touted freshman Gabrielle Schmidt, a Brisbane, Australia native, will make her collegiate debut. Schmidt finished 21st at the 2024 World U20 Cross Country Championships in March.

The Wisconsin Pre-Nationals races are the Gators’ final regular-season events. The Gators are slated to compete next at the SEC Championships in College Station, Texas on Friday, Nov. 1.
