GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women’s swimming and diving team and head coach Jeff Poppell officially announced the addition of Annette Schultz to the program as a transfer on Monday afternoon.
Schultz joins the Gators after spending her first two collegiate seasons at the University of Louisville, and will be immediately eligible due to out-of-conference transfer rules.
“We’re very excited to have Annette join us at Florida,” says Poppell. “We feel that she can make an immediate impact to our program, especially on relays.”
The Dexter, Mich. native competed in the fall portion of the Cardinals’ schedule in 2019, ending her sophomore campaign at the Purdue Invitational on Nov. 21-23. Additionally, she competed in a tri-meet against Indiana and Texas and duals versus Notre Dame, Tennessee and Xavier.
As a freshman in 2018-19, Schultz posted career-best times in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back and 200 back, and scored in each of Louisville’s dual meets.
Schultz would finish her high school career as a five-time state champion, including three straight titles in the 200 free. Her other pair of championship would come in the 100 free as a sophomore and junior. She also earned All-American honors in the 100 and 200 free all four years of high school and was named the MISCA Athlete of the Year in 2016.
As a member of the Dexter Community Aquatics club, she was a Junior National Championships qualifier in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 100 back and 200 back.
