UF WGOLF | Gators Wrap Up Season Opener at ANNIKA Intercollegiate

Florida finished seventh with Annabell Fuller (T5), Maisie Filler (T12) and Jackie Lucena (T17) placing in the top-25.

LAKE ELMO, Minn. – The Florida women’s golf team wrapped up the season opener with a seventh-place finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate on Wednesday.

Three Gators finished in the top-25 as the annual tournament features the top-12 women’s golf programs. Wake Forest won the event finishing 5-under as Florida was one of four SEC teams that competed along with South Carolina (T4th), Auburn (10th) and Alabama (11th).

Senior Annabell Fuller recorded the top finish at T5. She was 3-under through her first nine on the day backed by three consecutive birdies to close out. A WGCA All-American Scholar last season, she again highlighted the end of her next nine with an eagle (par-5, 504 yards) to finish 3-under (69).

Staying consistent throughout the season opener, Maisie Filler placed T12 and Jackie Lucena T17.

Posting her best round of the tournament, Taylor Roberts went 1-under (71). She improved each round after cutting off four strokes from round one to two and four strokes today. The outing marked her Gators debut as she was one of seven to record an eagle. Similar to Roberts, freshman Karoline Tuttle notched her best round of the tournament with a 76 (+4).

Florida follows up the season opener at the “Mo” Morial Invitational in Bryan, Texas at the Traditions Golf Club from Sept. 20-21, marking its first-ever appearance in the event.
