Florida will tee it up at 9:30 a.m. ET for the first of two rounds on day one at the LSU Tiger Invitational.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida women’s golf team travels to Baton Rouge, La. to compete in the LSU Tiger Invitational, the final regular season tournament for the Gators before they set their sights on the SEC Championship, scheduled to begin next week. The LSU Tiger Invitational begins on Wednesday, April 6 and concludes a day later on April 7.

Format: The LSU Tiger Invitational will feature 54 holes of stroke play over the course of two days. 36 holes will be played on Tuesday with the remaining 18 being played on Wednesday. The tournament features a shotgun start for all three rounds with Florida teeing it up on holes eight through 10 in each round. Competition will begin at 9:30 a.m. ET on both days.
Course Information: The tournament is being held at the Par 72, 6,350-yard University Club, home of the LSU Tigers golf teams. Originally created LSU Alumni Jim Lipe, the course opened in 1998. In 2010, Lipe and PGA Champion David Toms redesigned the course to wind through the wetlands of Baton Rouge. The University Club has been the site of many tournaments, including the PGA ‘Auberge Pro-Am of Baton Rouge and the 2017 NCAA DI Men’s Golf Championship Regional.

Tournament History: The LSU Tiger Invitational has been held since 2005 and is heading into the 16th straight year of competition. This will be the first time that the Gators are in the field.
Last time out: The Gators traveled to Athens, Ga. to compete in the annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Recording a team score of 907 (+43), Florida finished ninth in a stacked field of 18.
Senior Lauren Waidner shined for the Gators, recording a 7-over par 223 to finish tied for 16th individually. In only her second tournament of the season, Waidner has recorded two top-25 finishes.
Marina Escobar was next in line for Florida, finishing tied for 36th after three days of competition.
Maisie Filler, Jenny Kim and Elin Esborn rounded out the Gators lineup.
Two Gators Compete at Augusta: Sophomore Annabell Fuller and senior Addie Baggarly competed at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur this past week. The tournament featured an elite class of 82 female golfers with the opportunity to play at the prestigious Augusta National course. Both Baggarly and Fuller competed in a closed practice at Augusta on Friday, while Fuller competed in the final round after making the top-30 cut after two rounds of play. She finished tied for 22nd.
Coming Up: The Gators will set their sights on the SEC Championship, set to begin on Wednesday, April 14 in Birmingham, Alabama.
