Filler Added to ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List
The award is given to the top collegiate division 1 golfer.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – Florida women’s golfer Maisie Filler was added to the ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List in conjunction with Golfweek and Golf Channel on Thursday.

Created in 2014, the award is annually given to the top female Division 1 collegiate golfer; the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media.

Filler has had a dominant fall with back-to-back victories helping lead the Gators to three-straight victories to close out the first half of the season. Filler currently leads the Gators in nearly every statistical category and ranks second in stroke average in the SEC with a 69.67. She is one of two golfers in the SEC (LSU’s Ingrid Lindblad) that has two solo victories this season. The senior has finished 1-1-T2 in the last three events and under par for three of the four.

The Palm Beach Gardens native, won her first collegiate victory at Tar Heel Invitational and her second at The Ally. Both performances wrote her name into the record books. Filler shot a 54-hole score of 203 (-13), which tied the second-lowest individual tournament score in program history for the second time in her career – one stroke away from the record of LPGA Tour Player Sam Wagner set in 2016. Her opening round of a bogey-free 64 (-8), marked the second-lowest in program history and was two away from the program low of 62 set by Sierra Brooks.

In the final fall outing at The Ally, Filler shot a final round of 66 (-6) for her team-best eighth under par round this season and fifth out of six career rounds in the 60s at Old Waverly. The team victory at the tournament was the 31st all-time under head coach Emily Glaser; 32nd total as she was an assistant coach for a season in 2011-12. Florida last won three events in a season in 2015-16 and is the fifth occurrence under Glaser. It marks the most team titles since the 2019-20 season when the Gators last won by double-digits at the Allstate Sugar Bowl by 13.

Florida will begin the spring season at Therese Hession Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, California from Feb. 4-6.
