UF WGOLF: Baggarly, Waidner Earn SEC Nods

Addie Baggarly was named to the Second Team All-SEC while Lauren Waidner was tabbed to the SEC Community Service Team.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida women’s golfers Addie Baggarly and Lauren Waidner were honored by the Southeastern Conference on Thursday with the league’s end-of-season awards. Baggarly earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team while Waidner was named to the SEC Community Service Team.

During the 2019-20 season, Baggarly was solid for the Gators. The Jonesborough, Tenn., native appeared in the Gators’ lineup in all seven events of the abbreviated season, notching team-best 72.19 scoring average.

Over her 21 rounds played, Baggarly recorded 10 under-par rounds, seven of which were in the 60s. She placed within the top 25 individually in five tournaments, including three top-10 finishes.

This marks Baggarly’s second postseason SEC honor as she was named to the 2018 All-Freshman Team.

For the second consecutive year, Waidner has been recognized by the conference for her contributions off of the course.

Waidner was an active member of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as a liaison between her team and the athletic staff. Additionally, Waidner was part in the Gators Tracks Program, delivering shoes to local children in the area. She also went on regular trips to Shands Hospital, spending time with patients in the pediatric ward.

Waidner competed as an individual twice during the season for the Gators. Over six rounds, she accumulated a scoring average of 73. Her best performance of the season came at the Pat Bradley Invitational where she tied for fifth after shooting 3-under 213.
