UF WBK: Sunday in Gainesville to Feature Matchup Over Longwood

Florida will look to extend its three-game win streak, tipping off against the Longwood Lancers Sunday at noon.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -Florida will return to the O’Dome on Sunday afternoon and host the Longwood Lancers. The matchup is set for a noon tip-off and will be aired on SEC Network.

Florida currently holds a 6-4 record and are looking to extend its three-game win streak in Sunday’s matinee against Longwood. The Lancers also boast a three-game win streak, but have one more game tallied to hold a 7-4 record.

GATOR TIES:
The Lancers’ head coach Erika Lang-Montgomery<https://longwoodlancers.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/erika-lang-montgomery/1000> was a Florida Gator from 1988-92. Lang-Montgomery earned several honors while in Gainesville including an SEC All-Freshman Team honor in 1989. Lang-Montgomery later returned to UF as an assistant coach in 2019 and remained with the Gators till 2022.

GATORS x LONGWOOD HISTORY:
The Gators and Longwood have a brief history with only two recorded matchups. The first game between the Lancers and Florida dates back to Nov. 17, 2014, where the Gators took a 91-46 win at home.

The 45-point victory in 2014 was later followed by a 71-54 Florida win on Nov. 10, 2019. Both meetings took place inside the O’Dome with Longwood shooting below 32 percent from the field, and Florida forcing upwards of 10 turnovers.
