UF WBK: SEC Schedule Set for Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Southeastern Conference office released the 2021-22 women’s basketball conference slate on Wednesday as the Gators learned their assignments for the upcoming campaign.

The Gators host eight contests at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center as Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri are all scheduled to visit the Swamp. Of the eight programs Florida will host, six of them qualified for the 2021 postseason.

Starkville, Miss. marks the site of UF’s 2021-22 SEC opener with the Gators and Mississippi State meeting for a Thursday night battle to kick things off on Dec. 30.

Just three days later, Florida will host its conference home opener Jan. 2 when it welcomes Georgia. The Gators complete an early run of back-to-back home contests on Thursday, Jan. 6 as Ole Miss visits the O’Dome.

A stretch of three of four games on the road kicks off with a trip to Texas A&M on Sunday, Jan. 9 as the Gators and Aggies square off from Reed Arena. Following its second conference road test, Florida returns home to host Auburn on Thursday, Jan. 13.

The Orange and Blue then travel to Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide on Sunday, Jan. 16 before wrapping up their road swing with a Thursday night showdown at Kentucky on Jan. 20.

Following its consecutive road tilts, UF is then set to play three-straight contests at home with LSU, South Carolina and Tennessee. After hosting LSU on Sunday, Jan. 23, the Gators will receive their first “bye” and won’t have a Thursday game on the docket. UF hosts the Gamecocks on Sunday, Jan. 30 and then opens the month of February with Tennessee on that following Thursday, Feb. 3.

Florida then takes on a pair of repeat opponents with road games at Georgia and at Auburn. Florida’s second “bye” week will occur in between its games at UGA and Auburn as it will have an eight day break in between. Florida visits Georgia on Sunday, Feb. 6 and is scheduled for a Monday night matchup at Auburn on Feb. 14.

The Gators host Arkansas on Thursday, Feb. 17 before taking on their final two road challenges at LSU on Sunday, Feb. 24 and at Vanderbilt on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Florida’s conference season finale is slated for Sunday, Feb. 27 when the Gators matchup with Missouri.
