Me’Arah O’Neal Secures State Title in Route to Gainesville
Gators Signee, Me’Arah O’Neal recorded a 28-point outing to crown her high school state champions. O’Neal and Episcopal High School won the Class 4A division title game this past weekend.

HOUSTON, Tex.- Florida women’s basketball has seen numerous victories outside of Gainesville this past week. The Gators defeated Mississippi State in Starkville, Coach Rhyne Howard<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/rhyne-howard/1807> led USA Basketball to defeat Senegal in Belgium, and Florida Signee Me’Arah O’Neal was crowned a State Champion in Texas.

Over the weekend Me’Arah O’Neal alongside her teammates at Episcopal High School defeated Kinkaid 66-54 to win the SPC (Southwest Prepatory Conference) Class 4A girl’s state basketball title. O’Neal dominated on offense and led in scoring with 28 points. Her 28-point performance was far from easy, as the 6’3 senior was often seen with multiple players covering her in the low post. O’Neal has adapted to being the center of several opponent’s defensive plays and has become an all-around better team player because of it.

The State Champion will travel to Gainesville later this week to watch her future teammates take on Ole Miss Thursday night. Me’Arah O’Neal is excited to spend time with Coach Kelly Rae Finley<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/kelly-rae-finley/1658> and the Gators as they look to extend their two-game winning streak.
