UF WBK: Leilani Correa Drafted to Indiana Fever in 2024 WNBA Draft

Leilani Correa was the No. 27 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Correa was selected by the Indiana Fever, joining the No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark.

Brooklyn, N.Y. – Florida’s Leilani Correa was selected by the Indiana Fever as the 27th pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Leilani Correa is now the twentieth Gator in program history to be selected in the WNBA draft and the first Florida athlete since Kiki Smith was named to Connecticut in 2022. Correa is also Florida’s third player in program history to be selected by the Indiana Fever with the most recent being Ronni Williams in 2017.

Leilani Correa has secured her reputation as one of the greats in Florida women’s basketball history after serving a two-year stint in Gainesville. Correa transferred to Florida from St. John’s in 2022 and has played under Coach Kelly Rae Finley for two seasons. In the 2023-24 season alone, Correa was named SEC’s sixth-woman of the year, led the conference in scoring with an average of 21.38 points a game, and surpassed 2,000 career points.

Leaving her mark in the Gators record book, Correa holds the highest amount of career points in Florida basketball history across both the men’s and women’s programs. Correa finished out her collegiate career with a combined 2,132 points; recording 1,272 at St. John’s and 860 in orange and blue.
