UF WBK: Gators Basketball Continue Road Stretch in Tulsa

The Gators remain on the road for a Sunday contest against Tulsa. The game will be aired on ESPNU and tip-off is set for 2 p.m. ET.

TULSA, Ok. – Florida women’s basketball will play Tulsa Sunday afternoon for only the second time in program history. The contest will take place at the Donald W. Reynolds Center and mark Florida’s fifth-straight road game of the 2023-24 season. The game is set to tip-off at 2 p.m. and will be aired on ESPNU.

SERIES RECORD:
Florida currently holds the all-time series at 1-0 against Tulsa with their only recorded contest dating back to Dec. 2, 1983. In Florida and Tulsa’s sole meeting, the Gators defeated the Hurricane 70-52. The ’83 game took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma making Sunday’s game the second visit from the Florida Gators.

FLORIDA’S LAST GAME:
The Gators are coming off a difficult non-conference loss to Marshall, falling 88-91 to the Herd. Florida held the lead for upwards of 30 minutes, before Marshall came out strong in the fourth to take the three-point victory.

Aliyah Matharu led Florida in scoring with 27 points, and hit her 1,000-point career milestone in the Dec. 2 matchup. Not far behind was Leilani Correa with 23, going 8-of-24 from the field. Leading Florida on the boards was Ra Shaya Kyle with 11 rebounds to secure her fourth double-double of the 2023-24 season.

ABOUT TULSA:
Tulsa currently holds a 6-3 record going into Sunday’s contest and is coming off a 60-58 victory over Central Arkansas. Tulsa overcame an eight-point deficit in their last time out and was led by Temira Poindexter with 22 points.

Overall, Tulsa has two players averaging in double figures for scoring this season, Temira Poindexter (22.3 ppg), and Delanie Crawford (18.6).
