Florida returns home for the weekend series against Arkansas

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Florida volleyball team (16-4, 8-2 SEC) welcomes the Arkansas Razorbacks (14-5, 5-4 SEC) to Exactech Arena this weekend for a two-match series.

Saturday’s matchup is slated for a 1 p.m. on SEC Network + and can also be heard on FloridaGators.com/watch.

Sunday’s match is set to air on the SEC Network with Sam Gore and Missy Whittemore on the call. The match can also be heard on the airways of ESPN Gainesville 98.1 FM/850 with Tom Collett and Josh Crow on the call.

Florida is coming off a pivotal sweep over the Auburn Tigers on Wednesday, while the Razorbacks have not played a contest since Oct. 19, when they defeated Texas A&M in five sets.

The Gators hold the 48-3 series advantage over Arkansas, including a 22-0 record at home.

Last Time Out

  *   In its last contest, the No. 14 Florida volleyball team swept the Auburn Tigers (25-23, 25-18, 25-15) to claim sole possession of first place in the SEC at the midway point
  *   UF’s offensive attack was incredibly balanced on Wednesday night – led by a 14-kill performance from both Merritt Beason and Sofia Victoria. Marina Markova followed closely with 11 kills of her own, while Bre Kelley added a five-kill effort
  *   Rookie setter Alexis Stucky led the Gators to a .363 clip on the night, while dishing out 37 assists in the process
  *   As a team, UF held Auburn to a .112 hitting efficiency on the night and totaled 8.0 blocks at the net. Gabrielle Essix posted a team-high five blocks, while Stucky added four and Beason pitched in three in the sweep
  *   Elli McKissock paced the backcourt defense for Florida, finishing the match with 14 digs. Stucky added six of her own, while Beason and Victoria recorded five apiece in the victory
  *   Behind the service line, UF finished with three aces – one apiece from Trinity Adams, Beason and McKissock.

Last Time Against Arkansas

  *   The last time these two squads faced off, the Gators defeated Arkansas in a tightly-contested five-set battle at Barnhill Arena (16-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-22, 16-14)
  *   Former Gator T’ara Ceasar led Florida with a 23-kill effort, while Gator alumna Thayer Hall posted 14 kills of her own in the five-setter. Merritt Beason added 10 kills in the victory, followed by a career-high nine from Bre Kelley
  *   Gator alum Marlie Monserez dished out 55 assists on the night to go along with five blocks
  *   The Gators tallied 12.0 blocks at the net, holding the Razorbacks to a .191 hitting percentage in the match. Kelley registered a team-high and career-high seven blocks, while Beason and former Gator Lauren Forte each tallied three blocks apiece in the victory
  *   Florida’s backcourt defense was led by a 21-dig performance from Ceasar. Beason added a career-high 17 digs in the five sets, while Monserez recorded 14. Hall’s 12 digs and Elli McKissock’s 10 digs rounded out the performances in double-digits
