Alexis Stucky and Elli McKissock were honored by the league on Monday
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After aiding Florida to a perfect 2-0 week, including a win over No. 4 Wisconsin, two Gators earned SEC Weekly honors.
Alexis Stucky was named both SEC Overall Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week – her second rookie honor of the 2022 campaign – while Elli McKissock was named Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season and fourth time overall.
In the sweep of Florida State, Stucky dished out 41 assists and led the team to a .345 clip in the match. Her 41 assists were a three-set high for the freshman, who averaged 13.67 helpers per set in the matchup. The Laramie, Wy. native also registered six digs, three blocks and one kill in the victory.
Against the fourth-ranked Wisconsin Badgers, Stucky tied her career-best with 45 assists in front of 16,833 fans at the Kohl Center. She added a career-best five kills, five blocks and four digs in the five-setter.
McKissock averaged 4.25 digs per set in the two matches this past week, along with 0.75 assists per set.
Against the Seminoles, the junior libero posted 16 digs in the three-setter, pairing that performance with a two-assist, two-service ace day.
McKissock tallied a team-high 18 digs against the then-fourth ranked Badgers on Friday night, adding four assists and one ace in the victory.
The Gators are back in action on Wednesday with the start of conference play, facing Alabama. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. in Exactech Arena, with the match streaming on SEC Network +.
