Khan Bestowed with SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week Honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Men’s Track & Field athlete Parvej Khan has been named SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week, as announced by the Southeastern Conference on Tuesday afternoon.

Khan, who has recorded countless impressive performances throughout the 2024 indoor season, had his best showing in the Men’s Mile at the Terrier DMR Challenge on Friday, February 16.

The freshman improved on his already standing school record by a little over a second as he recorded a new personal best of 3:55.41. This mark stands as the 17th best in the nation in 2024 and second best in the SEC. Furthermore, his time of 3:55.41 is the best time by a freshman in the entire nation. Going into the meet, Khan already held the Indian National Record in the mile, but as he improved on Florida’s school record, he improved on the national record as well.
